Our mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design & manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services.

Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.

In 2025, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 350 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

Duties

  • Be responsible for accomplishing tasks in our facilities, including: 
    • Mechanical and electrical assembly, integration and testing of prototypes and products. 
    • Environmental testing of the prototypes and products (vibration, thermal vacuum, ..). 
  • Support and review the mechanical, thermal, and electrical design of the products.   
  • Ground support equipment design and manufacturing for handling and testing of company products.   
  • Provide input to the rest of the team from a testing perspective and feed their input back. 

Must have

  • MSc in University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.   
  • Problem solving, hands-on abilities and adaptation skills.    
  • Hands-on experience with design and assembly of complex assemblies.   
  • Knowledge or experience/interest in environmental testing  
    • Measurement concepts and tools and their application in practice  
    • Data acquisition and measurement automation 
    • Data analysis, plotting and reporting 
  • Experience in CAD. 
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to learn a broad range of engineering topics.

Nice to have

  • Experience in production of engineering drawings (mechanical and/or electrical).   
  • Experience in use of milling machine, lathe, drills, etc  
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C, C++,…) 
  • Experience with environmental testing (Vibration, thermal,..)   
  • Experience with optical components and systems: laser diodes, optical fibers (principles and handling), photodiodes… 
  • Good organization and planification skills 
  • Prior experience in space sector
