Our mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design & manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services.
Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.
In 2026, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 350 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.
Your mission
As a Supplier Management Engineer, part of our Sourcing & Supply Chain team, you will be a key link between Aerospacelab supplier base and internal teams.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong, trust-based partnerships with both local & international suppliers.
- Supporting our supplier’s growth throughout the entire process: from product development to production preparation and into Mass Production.
- Ensuring On-Time & On-Quality deliveries to consistently meet our performance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- You provide the link between Aerospacelab and our component suppliers, developing new products for the next generation of satellites constellations.
- During pre-production phase, you coordinate preparation team of Design, Quality, Industrialization & Procurement people, of both Aerospacelab and suppliers, to monitor the planning and development activities.
- In Mass production, you plan relevant follow-ups and audits with suppliers to ensure the orders to be delivered on time, on quality & in-full, supported by setting up appropriate KPI’s.
- You assess thoroughly the supplier Process Capacity and ensure it stays coherent with our order volume.
- You ensure our ERP is up to date with correct quantity and delivery date, using the info received by the suppliers
- You identify day-to-day procurement risk, escalate concerns in a timely manner and support developing efficient countermeasures.
- Act as a direct delegate of our quality department by:
- Setting up the relevant quality checks at supplier
- Following up all the non-conformances on delivered parts & ensuring corrective action(s) are implemented
- You continuously promote innovations and improvements, ensuring on-time preparation leading to the successful introduction of your parts into mass production.
- You work together with suppliers under your responsibilities, improving and developing their mass production performance in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
Overall, you are a key contributor to the Supply Chain strategy of Aerospacelab, in interaction with project, production, quality and industrialization teams towards our Production ramp up to 500 satellites per year.
Must have
- You have a degree in Engineering - Mechanical/Electronics/Production/Manufacturing
- You have minimum 2-3 years of experience in Quality / Production / Industrial Engineering /Logistics department, preferably in mass production environment.
- You are fluent in English
- You have excellent communication skills
- You demonstrate a proactive hands-on approach and outgoing personality
- You have an analytical mindset and strong planning/organization skills
- You have experience with Microsoft Office tools
- You are willing to travel frequently (up to 25% of your time to Suppliers)
- You are based in the HQ of Aerospacelab. Current HQ is in Louvain-la-Neuve but will be transferred to Charleroi within a few years.
Nice to have
- Experience in (Aero)space or Automotive industry
- Understanding of mechanical drawings and interpreting technical schematics.
