About Aerospacelab

Our mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design & manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services.

Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.

In 2025, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 300 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

Duties

  • You are able to have a system overview of the satellite.
  • You can support design trade-off for early phase by quickly identifying the relevant subsystem for the satellite
  • You can guide MAKE-BUY trade-off at satellite & payload level
  • You perform follow-up of development project at supplier by reviewing
    • o Requirements
    • o PDR
    • o CDR
  • You are involved in ASL inhouse development and participle to PDR and CDR of the subsystem
  • You are in charge of high-end technical purchase and have a portfolio >10M€/year,
  • You buy exclusively technical parts, such as:
    • o Flight Hardware for Satellite (~70%)
    • o Prototype & ground testing equipment (~30%)
  • You regularly perform analysis of your complete portfolio:
    • o To identify risks & opportunities and make decisions
    • o To size safety stock
    • o To identify procurement risks
  • You regularly attend international space exhibitions, and perform active market watch
  • As a key member of the department, you share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the staff, and play an active role in the training of the New Joiners,
  • You prepare Aerospacelab’s production ramp-up by strengthening the Supply Chain for the portfolio you handle.

  • You Report to the Head of Supply chain and Procurement
    • You have strong interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales
  • You are part of a department that handles:
    • Purchase
    • Supply Chain
    • Storage
    • Transport
  • You work with international suppliers.

Must have

  • Technical background (Civil or Industrial engineer)
  • 5+ years of experience with a strong experience in an industrial environment,
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Buyer,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Strong negotiation skills,
  • Solution oriented & agile mindset,
  • Autonomous & independent
  • Open to travel (international suppliers & space exhibitions)
