About Aerospacelab

Our mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design & manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services.

Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.

In 2026, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 350 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

To strengthen our teams, we are creating the position of :  Industrialization engineer.

Your mission

You integrate project development teams with an Industrialization role, acting as the bridge between engineering and manufacturing and driving the transition from early prototypes to repeatable, high-rate production.

  • You perform industrialization activities for current and future Aerospacelab products in order to meet defined timeline, cost, and quality requirements
  • You work closely with the engineering team to integrate manufacturing requirements during development phases, providing systematic Design for Manufacturing /Assembly feedback and challenging designs that create production bottlenecks
  • You create and maintain in the ERP the procurement/production BOM based on the Engineering BOM
  • You work closely with the pre-series team to define and implement manufacturing ranges and work instructions
  • You convert engineering designs into robust, repeatable processes suitable for serial production
  • You contribute to the definition, commissioning, and continuous improvement of the Final Assembly Line (FAL) at the Megafactory, including machine selection, tooling, fixtures, and GSE
  • You support production forecasting and load-capacity analyses to anticipate ramp-up constraints and throughput bottlenecks
  • You set up assembly and test automation (including report generation) for serial production
  • You build and deliver production training for operators and technicians, and identify areas of improvement for future serial productions

You are a key contributor to the manufacturing strategy of Aerospacelab :

  • You accompany the production ramp-up towards a rate of tens of satellites per month at the Megafactory
  • Based on your experience, you give hands-on feedback about part manufacturability, assembly sequences, and test strategy to engineering and manufacturing teams
  • You contribute to implementing product lifecycle management at Aerospacelab

Interactions

  • You are at the interface between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality, working closely with designers, buyers, methods engineers, and quality engineers
  • You have a transverse function allowing you to be part of Aerospacelab's operational strategy

Location

  • You are based at the Megafactory in Charleroi, our serial production site, with regular presence at the R&D site in Louvain-la-Neuve
  • You are open to travelling a few days per month for supplier visits or program reviews

Must have

  • Engineering degree
  • 2–5 years of experience in industrialization, manufacturing methods, production engineering, or a hands-on manufacturing role, factory floor experience is expected
  • Fluent in English
  • Genuinely curious, hands-on problem-solver with an out-of-the-box mindset
  • Autonomous, rigorous, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, build-as-you-go environment

 Nice to have

  • Experience in high-complexity manufacturing industries (automotive, medtech, pharma, defense…)
  • Prior exposure to space sector constraints (cleanroom, environmental testing, GSE definition, ECSS…)
  • Background in machine or equipment commissioning and FAL implementation
  • Odoo ERP or equivalent MES/ERP knowledge

What's in there for you ?

  • Join one of the most ambitious satellite serial manufacturing ventures in Europe
  • Help build a factory and a production system from the ground up, at a scale never done before in Belgium
  • A versatile, hands-on position with a high level of autonomy and a large scope of work
  • Direct impact on the growth trajectory of the company
  • Flexible ways of working, structural homeworking possibilities
  • An attractive salary with a competitive benefits package
